Monte Rei Golf & Country Club
Having been founded in 2007, the Monte Rei Golf & Country Club is an outstanding example of high-end course design and uncompromisingly customer-oriented services. Monte Rei North, the first of two golf courses designed by the famous Jack Nicklaus, is a signature course which blends itself most naturally into a uniquely untouched area in the Algarvean back-country.
Each of the courses holes is of very individual design embracing the environmental surroundings and picking up on indigenous trees, grasses and foliage. An abundance of water hazards and fascinating bunkering offers singular challenges for the demanding golfer while the inspiring views of the Serra do Caldeirao Mountains and the tranquillity of the largely undeveloped surroundings serve to ease any tension left from everyday stress.
Returning from a memorable golf-round, players may relax in a spacious clubhouse of Mediterranean decor enjoying selected drinks and snacks in the acclaimed Monte Rei Grill, the Academy Café or one of two bars. True culinary highlights are served at the Vistas restaurant led by award-winning Chef Jaime Perez. Guests wishing to stay for the night or more have the choice of renting one of the villas elegantly arranged around the resort sharing another restaurant, a pool and a spa for recreation.
