Galgorm Castle is perfectly situated in the heart of Northern Ireland just 30 minutes from Belfast and the gateway to the stunning Antrim coast. It was host venue of the 2020 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and home of the ISPS Handa World Invitational and Northern Ireland Open. One of Ireland’s finest Championship parklands, Galgorm is an Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) ‘Parkland Course of the Year Winner’ and is consistently ranked as one of the best parklands in Northern Ireland.
The Par-72 layout was designed by Simon Gidman and opened in 1997. The course is nestled in the heart of the 220-acre historic Galgorm Castle estate, providing a mature setting that promotes an easy, relaxing rhythm that makes playing golf so pleasurable. The course is bordered by the rivers Maine and Braid which come into play on numerous holes, as well as five lakes and the magnificent oxbow lake adjacent to the 14th hole.
A variety of teeing areas provide an exciting and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities and its central location means the course is a must-visit for any golfers planning a trip to Northern Ireland.
“The long drive into the estate shows off one of the best holes, the 10th - wild, spacious and enthralling…the course undulates gently so it feels like a pleasant walk, which makes golf all the more enjoyable” (Kevin Markham – Golf Writer and Photographer).
The 220-acre estate boasts so much more than world class golf with a full range of activities and amenities across the historic estate. The focal point is the 17th century Jacobean castle where The Ivory Pavilion, an award-winning wedding and events venue, is situated within the walled garden. The Courtyard Business Park has a range of local and international businesses and Creative Gardens garden centre and cafe is one of the most popular in Northern Ireland.
Galgorm Castle forms part of the internationally acclaimed Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort and the Castle Kitchen + Bar at in the clubhouse is one of the best restaurants in the area where everyone is welcome.
