GOLF MARGARETHENHOF AT THE CMT STUTTGART
Resort management manifests commitment to quality on LGCE niveau
Ever since the opening of the golf club in 1982, the Margarethenhof is considered one of the most beautiful courses in Germany – for its’ exclusive location in the hills above Bavaria’s Lake Tegernsee as much as for the high standards. In the context of the reconstruction of the Health Resort Lanserhof, some of the fairways had to be repositioned which served as a perfect opportunity to overhaul the complete course.
In an interview with exklusiv-golfen.de at the CMT, Margarethenhof’s golf manager Marco Hank explained the backgrounds of the reconstruction of the golf course, which was to follow two major targets: The implementation of state-of-the-art environmental measures and a course design and quality standard that caters to the demands of today’s upper-class target audience. The feedback the golf manager and his boss, resort owner Dr. Harisch, already received by club members and guests as well as people in the golf business proves them right.
So does the membership to the Leading Golf Courses Europe, which not only serves as a certification for quality. To Marko Hank it is also a motivation to stay on track. He believes in differentiation and exclusiveness rather than trying to serve a larger target audience and therefore insists on an explicit positioning as a key to success.
