GOLF SON GUAL CELEBRATES 10 YEARS AT THE TOP
Early World of Leading Golf member club refuses to rest on its laurels
Golf Son Gual, the cherished World of Leading Golf member club and last years host of the World of Leading Golf awards, celebrated the venue’s 10th anniversary this summer. After a quiet opening in 2007, the club gained all sorts of accolades – from hosting a European tour event to winning the World of Leading Golf Award for the group’s best golf course in 2015.
“The quality of conditioning on Son Gual is one of its attractions; another is the quality of the course“, confirms a review in GOLF MONTHLY in 2014, adding, that “a further quality is the sumptuous food in the clubhouse – the perfect ingredients for a great golfing day …”
Son Gual’s general manager Andreas Pamer was one of the early decision makers recognizing the value of the World of Leading Golf association and its mystery testing system. Consistently receiving above-average test results is not only reassuring, the benchmarking is a great marketing and PR tool as well. Although Son Gual’s fame as “the cream of Spanish island golf” (Daily Mail) has spread almost automatically and in these times, celebrity spotting became a popular pastime for visitors and members.
So Andreas Pamer’s biggest problem is that of finding a slot for a celebratory competition in order to acknowledge the venue’s 10th anniversary. “We already have a full calendar of events so we haven’t scheduled in anything special, but we were happy to raise a glass or two of champagne to celebrate“, Pamer states in an article on golfbusinessnews, promising to “continue to provide the best we possibly can for golfers and non-golfers alike for the next 10 years and, hopefully, beyond.“
Golf Son Gual is a very welcoming place to be – for golfers and guests such as those coming together to celebrate the World of Leading Golf Awards 2016. A festive and yet familial affair since executives of member clubs, friends and partners of the association know each other quite well due to the regular regional and international connecting events.
